Photon counting CT (PC-CT) uses an energy-resolved X-ray detector, which allows X-rays with a continuous energy spectrum to be detected separately in arbitrary energy regions (Willemink et al. 2018). We report the results of applying a laboratory-built PC-CT to materials containing heavy elements with the characteristic X-ray absorption edge energy in the energy range in which the PC-CT is used.
