我が国は、地震に加えて、津波、洪水、土砂災害、火山噴火、強風・竜巻など様々な自然災害リスクが高い立地である。そのため、複数のハザードが同時期・同地域に発生するマルチハザードの研究を進めていく必要がある。特に、地震と洪水は、発生メカニズムが違うため、同時期の発生の確率は低く、地震・洪水の同時発生は様々なインフラ設計には考慮されていないのが一般的である。しかしながら、気候変動に伴う近年の豪雨災害の頻発化を考慮すると、地震と洪水のマルチハザード研究の重要性はより増している。また地震と洪水という異なる複数の外乱特性への対応も構造物設計上の課題である。本オーガナイズドセッションでは、地震と洪水のマルチハザード研究に関する現状を共有し、将来的な研究の課題や展開について議論する。
