Maximum hardness of an Al‑7%Si‑0.3%Mg alloy aged immediately after casting shows variations in precipitate types depending on the matrix location, but their detailed distribution is unclear. This study examines specimens slowly cooled to 473 K and then aged to clarify solute element segregation based on precipitate distribution.
