MoO₄^2--intercalated LDH coatings were fabricated on A6061 by electrophoretic co-deposition. The coatings preferentially formed on intermetallic precipitates, reducing cathodic oxygen reduction. Release of MoO₄^2- from LDH was confirmed after corrosion, producing superior corrosion resistance through physical barrier and inhibitor effects.
