The Science Council of Japan (SCJ) joins 46 international scientific organizations, including the International Science Council (ISC), as the representative organization of Japan for the promotion of science in cooperation with the global academic community. The SCJ supports 12 organizations in the field of earth and planetary sciences by providing financial contributions and dispatching representatives to the scientific steering committee, where long-term visions and research plans are discussed with the aim of pursuing the truth and realizing global sustainability. The SCJ also supports promotion of young scientists and international research exchanges.
