Hydrogen has potential of replacing fossil fuels as it produces about 3 times more energy than fossil fuels and requires less space for storage. This energy might be utilized for transportation, powering instruments, heating, and rocket fuel, among other things. However, it continues to encounter commercial challenges in production and storage. Recently, hydrogen is stored as liquid and gas in pressurized tanks, which cannot be applied to large-size projects. As an alternative storage option, underground hydrogen storage is considered, especially in salt domes. This research aims to explore and analyze the potential for underground hydrogen storage, particularly in salt bodies, by employing numerical modeling to evaluate the storage capacity.
