This study aims to develop a CO2 hydrogenation catalyst with high CO2 adsorption capabilities using Mg-MOF-74 as a catalyst support. By physically mixing Ni- and Mg-MOF-74, physically mixed NiMg-MOF-74 was obtained. After Ni-, Mg-, Zn- and physically-mixed NiMg-MOF-74 were thermally decomposed under Ar flow at 400℃ for 6 hours, they were tested for CO2 hydrogenation reaction. Among them, NiMg-MOF-74-derived catalyst showed the highest catalytic activity. Preparation of bi-functional CO2 hydrogenation catalysts is demonstrated by a simple physical mixing and the following thermal decomposition of MOFs.
