Phosphotungstic acid (PTA) has been reported to be able to be converted into a heterogeneous acid catalysis by being supported on a carrier. In this study, we fabricated a catalyst/polymer complex in which PTA was immobilized in ethylene glycol methyl ether methacrylate with an ether group as a side chain. The complex was washed with water or an organic solvent to measure the change in PTA content, and the washed composite was used to decompose ethyl acetate, and the effect of the structure of the polymer on the catalyst retention rate and catalytic activity of the complex was examined.
