CH4 decomposition was carried out using Ni-Cu based spiral-type structured catalysts prepared by the electroless plating (EP) method, and property of the turquoise H2 production was evaluated. This catalyst showed high decomposition activity even at temperatures below 650°C, achieving a temperature 50°C lower than that of conventional impregnation method catalysts. Furthermore, it was found that in the EP Ni-Cu catalyst, the addition of Cu significantly increased the amount of H2 production per Ni loading, improving the effective catalyst utilization rate.
