Biofuels and synthetic fuels are produced from various materials such as plants, algae, and agricultural industrial wastes and contain many compounds that are not contained in conventional fossil fuels. Among them, oxygenated compounds such as alcohols, esters, and fatty acids have a significant impact on fuel quality and require accurate analysis. In this study, separation techniques using chromatography were investigated for the separation of oxygenates from hydrocarbons to enable accurate qualitative and quantitative analysis.
