In Carbon dioxide Capture and Storage (CCS) projects, it is crucial to keep the injected CO2 contained within the reservoir and ensure that it never leaks to the surface. One of the methods for surface CO2 leakage monitoring is to measure CO2 concentration in the soil. However, because soil CO2 concentration fluctuates due to various factors, deep analysis for extracting abnormal signals is necessary. In this presentation, we will explore and discuss the optimal analysis methods for soil CO2 monitoring data observed in the Kashiwazaki area of Niigata Prefecture.
