The localized corrosion resistance of corrosion-resistant alloy (CRA) OCTG tubular materials in a CCS environment was evaluated using a crevice corrosion repassivation test method, based on ASTM G192-08. The testing simulated injection well conditions, characterized by pH levels in a high-pressure CO2 environment, a temperature of 96°C, and a chloride ion concentration of 55,000 ppm.Four CRA materials were evaluated using electrochemical techniques: S13Cr steel and three duplex stainless steels (22Cr, 25Cr-1, and 25Cr-2). The results demonstrated a strong correlation with the pitting corrosion resistance index (PREN) of stainless steels. Duplex stainless steels exhibited excellent localized corrosion resistance, confirming their suitability for CCS applications.
