CO2 capture and reduction (CCR) from atmospheric air and exhaust gases is attracting attention as promising technology for CO2 utilization. Herein, we developed a metallic phase-free dual-functional material (DFM), Zn–Na/Al2O3, consisting of Zn oxide and Na oxide species co-loaded on Al2O3. The Zn–Na/Al2O3 DFM exhibited high CO2 capture capacity and CO productivity, even under O2-containing conditions during the CO2 capture phase.
