A superstructure-based optimization platform was developed for the design and feasibility assessment of integrated carbon capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) systems. The platform integrates multiple CO2 capture technologies, permanent CO2 storage options, and diverse CO2 utilization pathways for the production of fuels and chemicals, including diethyl carbonate, methane, methanol, gasoline, diesel, and kerosene. By simultaneously evaluating these alternatives within a unified framework, the platform enables systematic identification of promising CCUS configurations based on technical, economic, and environmental considerations. The developed platform provides valuable decision-support for stakeholders involved in planning and deploying CCUS systems aimed at reducing industrial CO2 emissions.
