Chemical recycling of waste plastics has attracted attention toward the development of a circular society. For its practical implementation, it is necessary to clarify how additives contained in waste plastics affect decomposition reactions and catalyst performance. In this study, polyolefin decomposition over zeolite catalysts was investigated using actual plastic products and model samples prepared by adding calcium carbonate to additive-free polyolefins. Based on the decomposition results and catalyst acidity evaluation, the effect of calcium carbonate, a representative additive, on zeolite catalytic performance was evaluated.
