Fe-based catalysts have been widely investigated for the synthesis of light olefins from CO2 hydrogenation. However, efficient light olefin synthesis under low-pressure conditions remains challenging. In this study, we focused on the promoting effect of Ni on Fe catalysts and investigated the synthesis of light olefins via ambient-pressure CO2 hydrogenation over Ni-Fe/MgAl2O4 catalysts with different Ni/Fe ratios. XPS and H2-TPR analyses revealed that the Ni addition increased electron density of the Fe species and enhanced reducibility of the catalysts, respectively. These effects promote olefin formation from CO2 hydrogenation under ambient pressure.
