Mechanism of calcium homeostasis responds appropriately to various external stimuli and plays a key role in maintaining a stable state in the body. Na+/Ca2+ exchanger (NCX) involved is an antiporter protein (3Na+:1Ca2+) localized primarily in the plasma membrane and inner mitochondrial membrane of the cardiovascular system, nervous system and renal tubules. Disruption of calcium homeostasis regulated by NCX cause to various diseases. This symposium will feature three speakers conducting cutting-edge research focusing on the novel physiological functions of NCX, and will provide a comprehensive understanding of the pathogenesis of NCX in various organs. In this symposium, we hope that it will provide valuable insights for future research by many attendees.
