The author previously proposed Dureon, a mechanism that realizes persistence in a perturbing environment, and showed that five conditions deduced from this definition (Openness, Adaptivity, Self-production, Boundedness, Continuity) converge with conditions inductively extracted from observations of life. This paper adds a third derivation path: the physics of dissipative structures. Three of the five conditions are directly derivable from physical laws, whereas two resist direct physical derivation, revealing that the conditions comprise two distinct types, physical and ontological. This asymmetry further shows that Instrumental Convergence (IC) is not unique to rational agents but arises from optimization pressure inherent in persistence mechanisms in general; physical conditions enable the \emph{generation} of IC while ontological conditions enable its \emph{sustained accumulation}. The three-path consilience with explicable asymmetry supports the validity of the five conditions while exposing their internal heterogeneity, with implications for Universal Biology, AI safety, and Emergent Machine Ethics.
