Molecules with helical geometry that reversibly transform their chemical structures in response to photoirradiation are introduced. The helical molecules with photochemical reactivity exhibit chiroptical property including circular dichroism (CD) and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) owing to their chiral helical structure. Their chiroptical property could be reversibly modulated in response to the chemical structural change by photoirradiation.
