Silver nanoparticle layer films have been used as a metallic appearance coating, but the principle of their appearance has not been clarified. The dielectric function of the film shows a behavior different from both the Drude model and the Lorentz model.
To reproduce this, I proposed a new model in which the free electron number N0 in the plasma frequency, which is originally treated as a constant, varies with wavelength. The validity of this model is discussed using the dielectric function of an indium deposited film.
