We have grown Fe-Ga magnetostrictive alloy single crystals using the vertical Bridgman (VB) method. We have developed a processing method for Fe-Ga plates that can be used for magnetostrictive vibration power generators for IoT (Internet of Things). The processing method controls magnetization directions by surface grinding, and improves power generation characteristics. We explain the development history of crystal growth and processing processes, and report on efforts to increase the size of single crystal ingots to 2.6 inch square x 100 mm.
