While the importance of corrosion and corrosion protection has been increasing in recent years, there are still many unknowns regarding their microscopic mechanisms. We have developed an electrode emersion method for precise interface analysis, which is difficult to perform in a solution environment, and have demonstrated its usefulness. In this study, we report elemental analysis and electronic structure measurements by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy using model corrosion interfaces fabricated by the electrode emersion method.
