Diketo-pyrrolo-pyrrole (DPP) has high electrical and optical properties and can be chemically modified in various ways, we have synthesized a DPP derivative polymer by combining an acceptor unit and a donor unit with further extended conjugation.
This polymer has broad absorption in the visible region and emission in the near-infrared region. Hence it is expected to be a p-type semiconductor polymer with excellent photoelectric conversion properties for organic thin-film solar cells. Therefore, we fabricated and characterized organic thin-film solar cells using this polymer.
