Wavelength tunable range of tunable laser diode using silicon-photonic microring resonators is suppressed by wavelength dependence of directional couplers (DCs) between ring resonators and bus waveguides. In this research, we fabricated curved DCs which has low wavelength dependence and high fabrication error tolerance of power coupling efficiencies. Large wavelength tunable range was obtained using the wavelength tunable laser diode using the curved DCs.
