In this paper, we have demonstrated a technique that primarily harnesses the phase response of stimulated Brillouin scattering thus requiring only ~20mW of optical power to achieve RF bandpass filters with reconfigurable bandwidth from 30MHz-700 MHz, selectivity >20dB, and frequency tuning >20GHz. The filter passband possesses a flat phase response resulting in a zero group delay in the passband. Furthermore, no additional noise is added to the signal in the passband highlighting a major advance compared to traditional Brillouin-based RF devices. Finally, switching from bandpass to bandstop filters is also achieved with suppression of >15dB and bandwidths of >1GHz.
