Vector beams have been expected various applications due to the significant polarization and intensity distributions. A ZnTe crystal is one of the most useful nonlinear crystals for a terahertz (THz)-wave generation. The THz-wave generation is forbidden in [111] direction for a circular polarized pump pulse because of its high symmetry. However, we found that a THz vector beam could be generated by focusing a pump pulse on the [111] surface of ZnTe crystals and giving it a distribution of wavenumber vector, which has spatially topological characteristics. Our experimental results obtained by a homemade THz-polarization imaging system show the radial vector beam was generated in the wideband THz region.
