We have developed an ozone gas optics with an ultra-high damage threshold of 1.6 kJ/cm2 in a gaseous medium by irradiating an ultraviolet pulse laser to atmospheric pressure ozone mixed gas, which is a new concept optics that does not require consideration of optical damage. We will discuss experimental observation results on density wave excited in gas by an ultraviolet laser, which is the key to the generation of gas optics, and the generation of density waves for high-power laser wavefront control. We will also show the prospect of a positive control method of density wave for more precise gasoptics.
