Excimer lasers using noble gases are mainly used to fabricate YBCO superconducting wires. However, noble gases are strongly affected by geopolitical factors. In addition, it is necessary to improve the Jc of YBCO superconducting wires in a magnetic field. Therefore, by adding BaHfO3 (BHO) in the YBCO thin film, BHO self-organizes into nanorods and becomes an artificial pinning center for quantized magnetic flux, which improves Jc in magnetic field. Based on the above, we investigated the fabrication of BHO-doped YBCO thin films using a Nd:YAG laser without the use of noble gases.
