Recently, thermal transistors that switch "heat flow" like semiconductor transistors that switch "electric current" are attracted attention. Very recently, we realized solid-state thermal transistors that switch the thermal conductivity of SrCoO_x films (on/off ratio ~4). We overcame the drawback of the previously reported thermal transistors that use liquid electrolytes and ionic liquids by using YSZ single crystal as the solid electrolyte.
