Janus transition metal dichalcogenide (TMDC) is a TMDC with two different chalcogenide elements on the upper and lower surfaces. This special structure is reported to break the out-of-plane symmetry of the monolayer TMDC and produce out-of-plane polarization. In this study, Janus MoSeS was produced using the S-containing H2 plasma (H2/S-plasma) with surface atomic substitution of monolayer MoSe2. As such, the repeated power-controlled plasma treatment enabled the investigation of the intermediated partially substituted Janus state between MoSe2 and Janus MoSeS. In this talk, we will report the transition of structural and optical properties of the intermadiate state between MoSe2 and Janus MoSeS during the atomic substitution process.
