Iron-based superconductors,strain-free thin films
The physical properties of the iron-based superconducting thin films are known to be affected by the strain from the substrate. Generally, a bulk single crystal has been used as the unstrained reference sample. However, bulk single crystals are grown in equilibrium states, in contrast to thin films. Therefore, the comparison of a bulk single crystal with a thin film is not appropriate. In this study, the Fe(Se,Te) thin film grown by pulsed laser deposition was peeled off from the substrate to create a strain-free thin film. The superconducting transition temperature Tc of the strain-free thin film was ~14 K and the as-grown film showed a Tc of ~17 K.
