According to the conventional theory, the CuO2 plane is considered to be the driving force of superconductivity in cuprate superconductors. However, in Pr247, the CuO2 plane is insulating, but superconductivity is observed, suggesting that the CuO double chain drives superconductivity. In this study, we synthesize (Pr,Y)247 and show that the CuO2 plane is superconducting, non-superconducting, and superconducting in the CuO double chain by controlling the oxygen content.
