Generating a broadband optical frequency comb is typically a complex process involving an optical amplifier and a highly nonlinear external to the laser. In this research, we tried to directly generate a broadband optical frequency comb by incorporating a fiber with a high nonlinearity inside a fiber laser cavity. We achieved success in broadening the spectral bandwidth by fusing a 1 µm SMF with an optimized length at the position of peak power.
