We previously found that the ablation diameter can be quantitatively predicted by appropriately incorporating the nonlinear propagation effects of sub-100 fs laser pulse in air. In this study, we demonstrated that it is possible to control the ablation crater shape by clarifying the changes in the spatial distributions of sub-100 fs laser pulses by nonlinear propagation simulations in air.
