Noise is inevitable in physical measurement, and gives uncertainty to the measurement results. To correctly interpret the measurement results, it is important to quantify the uncertainty. In this study, we developed a method to quantify uncertainties in X-ray absorption spectra (XAS) with a physical basis by combining a standard spectral database and measured measurement noise. In this presentation, we will discuss the uncertainty quantification of XAS and its application to measurement optimization.
