In recent years, automated laboratories have gained popularity, but solid and bulk materials synthesis lags behind. The complexity of processes and the need for flexibility pose challenges. We report our current status of automatized bulk materials synthesis system that combines several instruments, prioritizing arc-melting synthesis of alloys. To ensure stability and flexibility, we use ROS2 and industrial-grade equipment like PLCs, robotic arms, and sliders. In addition, it possesses emergency capabilities, such as notifications via email or messaging apps, to enhance safety that is also an important aspect for the research. Due to its flexibility, our approach might be useful even for other automated lab setups. Such a system would help us to boost the productivity and experimental advancements. This talk focuses on the software part of the built system.
