Two-component self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) with 1 μm wide surface patterns were fabricated on Au(111) using molecules with various chemical structures such as triple bonds, double bonds, and single bonds. Thermal conductivity imaging of the fabricated two-component SAMs using scanning thermal microscopy (SThM) revealed that molecules consisting of single bonds and those containing triple bonds exhibit different thermal conductivities at the monolayer level. SThM measurements revealed the effect of molecular structure on thermal conductivity at the monolayer level.
