The divertor of the International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor (ITER) consists of a large number of tungsten (W) blocks. The divertor is responsible for the removal of excess energy from plasma, managing the helium gas which is the byproduct of the fusion reaction, and reducing impurities within the plasma. The objective of this experiment is to evaluate the hydrogen diffusion behavior within tungsten, which has an extremely low hydrogen solubility, and the state of hydrogen intrusion, using electrochemical methods.
