In this presentation, we propose a method to use metasurfaces to realize Second-Harmonic Generation (SHG), a type of second order nonlinear optical effect, using only silicon. Usually, SHG does not occur inside silicon due to the symmetry of the crystal structure, but on the surface, the symmetry is broken and SHG occurs locally. Simulation results reveal that by devising the structure of a metasurface, the radiation direction of SHG can be controlled and the intensity can be enhanced.
