In order to investigate the PL caused by Ag clusters formed in Ag-type zeolite, PL and XAFS measurements were performed in vacuum, which is the condition under which clusters are formed. The PL measurements showed that the strong PL that appeared at about 525 nm in air was greatly attenuated by vacuum evacuation, and a new PL appeared at around 660 nm. The XAFS results suggest that the clusters are formed only in vacuum, indicating that the 660 nm PL is due to Ag clusters.
