Laser carbonization of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) can form carbonaceous materials, such as graphitic carbon, silicon carbide and graphene quantum dots. It is speculated that high-temperature and high-pressure condition induced by laser irradiation contributes to the formation of these materials. In this study, we measured the temperature on PDMS during laser irradiation using a thermography camera, and investigated the relationship between the measured temperature and the chemical condition of the formed material.
