We are developing nano-biodevices with lipid bilayers on semiconductor substrates that enable analysis of a single membrane protein. The use of asymmetric lipid bilayers in these devices is expected to control their properties such as fluidity and reactivity with biomolecules. In this study, asymmetric vesicles were prepared and their asymmetry was evaluated.
