There are many combinatorial optimization problems in our daily lives, but conventional computer technology has difficulty in solving these problems, especially large and complex ones, in a realistic time frame. To solve these problems, NEC has been developing simulated annealing that operates on a vector supercomputer and quantum annealing that uses a superconducting parametric oscillator, and eventually envisions using both in the right places at the right time. In the presentation, examples of social implementation and the status of quantum annealing machine development will be introduced.
