In this study, we have discussed the dependence of the active layer thickness in fullerene- and nonfullerene-based polymer solar cells with different electron mobilities. Interestingly, the fill factor was drastically degraded for fullerene-based polymer solar cell but it remained the same for nonfullerene-based polymer solar cell along with increasing thickness of the active layer. This is mainly because chare collection efficiency is significantly decreased for the fullerene-based polymer solar cell. Furthermore, we will discuss the charge dynamics for these polymer solar cells in order to clarify the origin of the decrease in the charge collection efficiency.
