Herein, we discuss the relationship between charge generation and aggregation states of nonfullerene acceptor (NFA) molecules in PM6/L8-BO solar cells fabricated with different fractions of 1,8-diiodeoctane (DIO) additive. As a result, we found that short-circuit current density (JSC) increased, reached a maximum at 0.25%, and then slightly decreased with increasing DIO contents. On the other hand, exciton lifetime increased with increasing DIO contents and PL exciton quenching efficiency also decreased. Thus, the decrease in JSC is mainly ascribed to the decrease in the quenching efficiency.
