Aerosol droplets levitated in the air often exhibit unique properties that differ from those of bulk solutions. We found that the viscosity of aerosol liquid droplets varies with size. Furthermore, this phenomenon was observed in both aqueous and non-aqueous systems, which strongly suggests that it is a property change specific to microdroplets independent of the liquid species.
