In the case of SiO2 coated glass, even if the surface of SiO2 coated glass is hydrophilic at first, the surface becomes hydrophobic due to the deposition of hydrocarbons in the atmosphere. In contrast, SiO2 thin films deposited by the combination coating method developed in this laboratory have been found to have stable hydrophilicity over a long period of time. By utilizing this method to TiO2 thin film, it is considered that the hydrophilicity of TiO2 thin film, which is known as a hydrophilic film, can be improved. In this report, we evaluate the hydrophilicity of TiO2 thin films deposited by the combination coating method.
