It is known that induced charge electro-osmosis (ICEO) is generated when an electric field is applied to a conductive object in a fluid. Previous studies have used metals and indium tin oxide conductive films (ITO) as conductive materials and demonstrated the capture, accumulation, and discrimination of particles in fluids using ICEO. In this study, we proposed the use of Ge2Sb2Te5 (GST), a phase-change material, as a substrate for ICEO devices and attempted a proof-of-principle experiment.
