In this study, we attempted to measure pH in acidic regions using a new optical measurement method based on the pH dependence of absorption spectra of specific fluorescent dyes by applying a light wave mixing confocal optical system. The use of organic dyes and visible light makes it possible to measure pH under conditions that cause almost no perturbation to the sample.
