Fiber Bragg gratings (FBGs) are devices that have diffraction gratings in the fiber core, and their periodicity changes when environmental condition, for example temperature or strain, changes. By observing a center-wavelength shift of the reflection spectrum, we can use FBGs as fiber sensor heads. We report on an automated system using LabView software for time- and wavelength-division-multiplexed dual-wavelength differential detection FBG sensing using a single DFB laser.
